The first Friday of October is “World Smile Day”. A relatively new holiday, with a fascinating story. Created by Harvey Ball in 1963, this holiday came to be after Harvey’s invention of the smiley face. Harvey’s main concern was that the commercialization of the symbol would lessen the impact of the smiley face. The purpose of this day is to smile and spread random acts of kindness.
